Scenario 1On a business trip in Boston, Tina made plans to meet a friend at a Persian restaurant downtown at 7 p.m. The meeting with her client ran late, so she has only half an hour to find the restaurant. She knows it's on Beacon Hill, but she has forgotten the name. She tries to call her friend, but gets no answer. She is standing at the Tremont Street T stop with her navigator. She scans the map of Beacon Hill, viewing each restaurant's name until she recognizes the name of the one she is looking for - Lala Rokh. She chooses the restaurant as her destination, and begins walking through the Boston Garden in the direction of Beacon Hill. All of a sudden she realizes that the extra-large latte she had at Starbucks may not have been such a good idea. She needs to find a bathroom quick, so she takes out the navigator again, views the local restrooms, and is relieved to see that there is a Dunkin Donuts with a public bathroom right down the block.
Scenario 2Tina and Eric are in Boston together for what has become an annual Spring visit. As usual, they go out for a nice breakfast at a diner before planning out a day of enjoyable sight-seeing. Tina would like to check out an Asian art exhibit, but she hasn't had time to look up anything specific. She hopes that they can spend the morning at a museum or two, then take a break for a light lunch before figuring out what to do next. As Tina is quite familiar with the Boston MFA, she navigates to the Fenway area on her navigator, views the museums in the area, and notices that the close-by Gardner museum has a courtyard and a café. Tina and Eric start their day at the MFA's Japanese exhibit, take a break in the zen garden, then use the navigator to find the Gardner museum where they enjoy a nice lunch, and are impressed by the Gardner collection of European paintings.
Scenario 3 (Atypical)Tina and Eric are staying at a friend's house in Boston's Jamaica Plain. Since Tina is an early riser, she decides to take a walk in the Forest Hills cemetery while Eric sleeps in. She leaves Eric a note to meet her at the JP monument at noon. As Eric is not familiar with JP, she leaves him the navigator so that he doesn't get lost on the way there. Since she's usually in charge of the directions, Eric doesn't really know how to use the navigator, but she thinks he can figure it out, as he's seen her use it plenty of times. Eric wakes up at 10:30, takes a quick shower, and is soon standing outside staring at the navigator. He is relieved to find that Tina has saved the JP monument as one of the destinations. All he has to do is put on his headphones and listen to the directions the navigator gives him.
